Oh, I have a brother, and also a brother-in-law, who are avid deer hunters. They have deer leases and can't wait for hunting season to start. My husband has a friend who brings him deer sausage, which he loves. I don't eat it. I'm not a vegetarian, and guess if I thought about beef and poultry and pork before it's all packaged neatly in the meat department at the grocery store, it might be hard to eat, too. :(

That is why we got to talking about deer. I told them I had one son who liked to shoot deer with his gun and the other son liked to shoot them with his camera. I just can't stand thinking about looking at a beautiful deer and sitting in a tree stand quietly and bang, you got it! But I dare not criticize or he would get angry. What is strange about the deer hunter son, when he was a very young boy he was so sensitive.
When we first moved in this house, we had a hard time keeping the larger birds from a small bank where we were working so hard to get grass. We would let him sit outside and fire a pellet gun, not at them, just around them to scare them. One day he came in with tears rolling down his cheeks and of course I said, "Honey, whats the matter?". And he said "Mama, I accidentally hit a dove and I think its dead". It was dead and it truly hurt my son.
He was sensitive about a lot of things. So I was very surprised that when he got older, he would love to hunt. The other son never was interested in hunting.

I have no objection to eating Deer, it is just that I find it stronger than beef. Now I suppose if I lived on a farm, I would cringe everytime a cow was butchered for dinner.I would be begging for vegetarian pizza!!..
I love chicken...and bbq’ed beef...hmmmm good that I don’t have pet chickens! lolol
