Anyone here remember reading about Ellis Island? Why was it closed? It worked, and people from Ellis Island were proud to become citizens - no matter how long it took. They had to have a sponsor family, learn the language, be free of disease and have a job waiting.
And, why wasn’t our border sealed on 9-12-01? Lots of questions - no answers - even the politicians don’t know what happened to the billions of dollars allocated to close (and seal) our borders. People from many countries sneak in every day - many with ill-intent.
The illegal aliens now have more rights than citizens - and something is terribly wrong with that.
Free food (WIC and food stamps), subsidized housing, free medical care, free (and discounted) education, birthright citizenship, no taxes when paid under the table, not to mention disease and crime that is coming into this country - of course they will come. And we will pay.
Does anyone come here via Ellis Island any more? I don’t think so. There are people who come here on a student visa and never leave. I wonder how many are here on expired visas.
I don’t see our elected officials making any efforts to stop this influx of illegals. This makes for a slim chance of getting our financial mess cleaned up.
