The unfriendly environment for business due to taxes and more taxes and fees and regulations is a huge factor, and so are unions, especially the SEIU which has a death grip on all government jobs, state, county, city, etc.

You are right. Why would any business stay here if they could relocate to a more business friendly state, without the high taxes, government red tape and regualtion and out of control unions? Many of the producers have already left and more are pulling out everyday. We would pull our business out of here in a nano-second if we could get all of our customers to come with us.

We just bought a HDTV. The exact same TV that we were considering at Best Buy was $75 less by ordering it from tigerdirect.com. That $75 savings was even AFTER we paid shipping on the TV. We avoided an 8.25% CA sales tax, plus CA's $25 "recycle fee". Of course, I know the day of being able to do that will soon be over. The states and Congress are feverishly scheming to figure out how they can to get their greedy mitts on the internet and start taxing every sale. It's only a matter of time.

The illegal immigrant situation has been a sore spot with me for a LONG time - I finally gave up posting on the main forum about it - as one can only repeat the same things just so many times.

The illegal alien reminds me of the mistletoe plant. It attaches itself to a host tree and begins to suck the nutrients out of it. Then, along come more of it’s family - I guess they smell the “free food”. It almost looks like the host tree in it’s disguise.

No one planted it there. No one gave it permission. No one invited it. It just moved in and took over.

It feeds freely, and soon the host tree starts to lose it’s color. It is dying. But, the mistletoe keeps feeding, along with all the family members. When there are no more nutrients left and the host has died, they all move on to another host.

This is what is happening all over the country. It is pitiful (and frightening).
