To Judge Or Not To Judge
Judge not, that you be not judged. Matthew 7:1
What better way to tell people to mind their own business than to quote Jesus? People who seldom read the Bible are quick to quote Matthew 7:1 when they want to silence someone whose opinion they dont like. Judge not, that you be not judged seems like the perfect response.
In context, however, the passage indicates that we are indeed to judge; were just supposed to avoid faulty judgments. Furthermore, our judgments are to begin with self: First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye, Jesus said (v.5). He then said, Beware of false prophets (v.15). This too requires judgingwe need to be able to discern truth from falsehood.
Jesus used the metaphor of fruit to give us the proper criteria for judging. By their fruits you will know them (v.20). We are to judge people (including ourselves) by the quality of the fruit they produce. This fruit cannot be judged by earthly values such as how good we look (v.15). It must be judged by heavenly valuesthe fruit of the Spirit produced within uslove, joy, peace (Gal. 5:22).
Our tendency is to judge by appearance. But God judges by what we produce, and so should we.
They truly lead who lead by love
And humbly serve the Lord;
Their lives will bear the Spirits fruit
And magnify His Word. D. De Haan

Help! I lost my place on Free Republic! LOL! I tried so hard to get back on early yesterday evening and couldn't. Had to go through registering, password, etc. Didn't get my reply until 11:00 and of course, by then, I gave up!
I was chomping at the bit...wanting to chime in on American Idol, "24", Taylor Hicks, Lori's Uggs, Billie's Elsey's, our beloved Elvis and I truly had a taste of not being able to speak and ya'll know how I love to jabber!
When my computer was down, I adjusted to it and got a lot of stuff done that had to be done, BUT, when I could get back on and couldn't, I went crazy!
Telling you all that I missed you all would be the "understatement of all time". Really, I truly, absolutely did miss you you all with all my heart! The following posts are to all of you. And guess what? I have a Red Hat Luncheon today and can't stay with you. Isn't that the pits? Plus, I have 'mail' and 'pings' to get to as soon as I can!

Good Morning :)
Hope Everyone had a good week!
I miss visiting. It was a tough week for me. My son left. My dog has some health issues. She also had a bad reaction to the heartworm shot. An emotional week.
I wish you all a fantastic weekend!!

I have been away also, GeeBee, due to computer problems. The computer has had a complete overhaul by my precious son.
I know it must have been sad with your son leaving. And I am so sorry to hear about your sweet pet's problems. I sure hope she will improve double quick!
Love the little coffee cup!

Thanks Jaycee
Such a cute dog image! :) How frustrating. There are times my computer has gone down and it makes you feel so disconnected doesn't it. You have raised a wonderful son! :) Great he can get your computer back up and running.
My dog is so young to have all these troubles. It was an unpleasant surprise to say the least. It's worrisome but hopeful that she will recover. She seemed a bit under the weather. I'm so glad I went with my instinct to take her to the vet before her regular appointment.

I have always wished I had a daughter but I sure am glad I was blessed with these two sons. Guess I will run now and get straightened out in the kitchen so I can get ready for my luncheon today. Have a wonderful day! I will be anxious to hear news about your little dog.

Happy New Year Dolly! :)
It is never enough time to visit is it. :) I dreaded his leaving days before he left but he is doing great!
I don't know yet. She doing great today. She was diagnosed with diabetes and I've been giving her insulin for a few days. Was nervous but this is going well. It is the kidney blood work that is upsetting. Praying for better news next week. Thank You Dolly.

Luncheon sounds fun. Enjoy!! I have to shop because we have no food and a snow storm coming. Wish I shopped earlier in the week. ;)
Thank you so much Jaycee. I’m hopeful she will be fine.

Some times it is difficult not to have temper tantrums when the puter is down. Especially when all I want to do is post the Daily Bread. I have gone on trips and made sure I had access to one just so I could post them. I try not to miss a day.

Thank you, yorkie! Thats a new and cute Red Hat graphic!
I am doing dishes, etc. and checking the puter until I go upstairs. I forgot if I told you about the Mad Greek Restaurant or not. But it is a nice little place with a good atmosphere! All the food I’ve had there has been very good.
