My SIL bought a used Volvo that was out of warranty. The Volvo service department told her that her onboard computer software was out of date and that she would have to pay $175 to upgrade.
On the above thread, particularly upon the advice/counsel of RSalesman, she contacted the dealership manager and got 100% of her money back.
She wanted me to thank you guys for your help.
Good deal. Doesn’t make sense you should have to pay for a software update.
Volvos are good vehicles but they do have problems with the Black box...sometimes...loved by Turbo’s...ran good and fast!
loved MY Turbos....Geez..
It was the recall item. That was free but the service dept thought they might make a profit on the software upgrade.
Makes me wonder how many people they charged for that?
