LOS ANGELES – "SpongeBob SquarePants" might get squeezed off Time Warner Cable.
Media giant Viacom Inc. said its Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and 16 other channels will go dark for 13 million subscribers at 12:01 a.m. Thursday if a new carriage fee deal with Time Warner Cable Inc. is not agreed upon by then.
The impasse would mean "SpongeBob" and other popular shows like Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" and Stephen Colbert's "The Colbert Report" will be cut off on the nation's second-largest cable operator.

Talked to Mom today, their satellite company could not reach a deal with the local ABC affiliate to carry local ABC programming, and Mom wants to watch Penn State vs. USC. The old rabbit ears on my brother’s black and white TV are not bringing in a clear signal, anybody know where she might be able to see this online?
All I can tell you is Direct TV. We pay around $60 a month, no internet, for the basic package and the 3 local networks, only one tv (others are extra but I don’t remember how much). The main reason I would like to change is the customer service: due dates changed without warning, service cutoff if you did not know of unannounced changes in due date, rude customer service representatives... Also, and I realize that is not their fault, every time it rains a little bit hard we lose the satellite signal. Most of the time it is nothing more than an aggravation, but when there’s severe weather I wish I could keep my tv on! Oh, I forgot, once upon a time I had the satellite bill as a draft on my checking account, but they started charging me twice a month! It happened several times and I didn’t always get a refund or a credit, so I discontinued the draft and now I pay on-line.
The basic tier is crap and they charge too much for higher tiers.
I'd love an ala’ cart ability but that would sink the above mentioned channels.

Spongebob is the BEST thing on TV. and I’m 52 years old. Goes to show you that TV isn’t worth much at all.
Spike is one of the channels. That and a couple others would be missed.

She should be able to get live broadcasts from a TV station online.
Tell her to put the local ABC stations call letters in Google (or any) search.
Go to the web page and see if they stream. Some do
If the local one doesn’t, try WABC of a large audience station..
Please, I have no side in this little flare-up between the two of you, I’m just curious about the issue of the word “grandkids.” Perhaps the issue is whether it’s one word or two: he says “grandkids, “you said “grand kids.” But then again, you also say “some body” instead of “somebody.” Come on, help me out here.

You were clearly trying to give Humblegunner tit for tat with a spelling lesson of your own. The problem is that he doesn’t seem to have actually misspelled anything, which is what made me curious about whether perhaps I had misunderstood or overlooked something. Apparently, I did not; rather, it was you who was mistaken when you quibbled over Humblegunner’s spelling of “grandkids.”
Any idea how I can find out if my cable is affected? I went to the main page for my cable company — nothing there.

Please spar me your pathetic interpretation of the comments. Now who is quibbeling? it certainly isn't me. Like I stated earlier, the spelling bee isn't the issue. The level of emotionally retarded bully's in here is laughable! I typed t bo for the simple reason I don't have a T BO! I have a DVR. Now if I would of typed DVR I'm willing to bet I would of been sarcastically corrected on that as well. Please do me and others a service and move on! The (spelling bee) is now adjourned.
