Poor player personnel decisions finally caught up with Shanahan. He could only live off of Elway’s laurels for so long. The Broncos have won only one playoff game since Elway retired in 1999. Schefter reports that the meeting between Bowlen and Shanahan lasted only five minutes.

Ding, ding, ding, ding.....we have a winner! Shanahan has done zero playoff-wise since Elway left and we all know how he won those 2 Super Bowls (over the salary cap...wink, wink, Bowlen gets a slap on the wrist).
How is it that Denver seems to get all the really odd calls go their way....hmmmmm Mr. Hochuli????
The worm has turned......

Poor coaching personnel decisions finally caught up with him is more like it. I am a die-hard Broncos fan and think Shanahan is one of the great ones, but his choices of defensive coordinators have been horrific. Over the last 2 years, they had a LOT of talent on defense and absolutely no ability to stop anybody-no cohesion, abysmal play calling. That starts with coaching (or lack thereof).
