“irregardless”
from dictionary.com “an erroneous word that,etymologically means the exact opposite of
what it is meant to express, attested in non standard
writing from 1912, probably a blend of irrespective and
regardless. Perhaps inspired by the double negative used
as an emphatic.”

STOP using “impact” as a verb!
This does not impact that.
Thas has an effect on that.
I am a copy editor, and I never allow my authors to use the word as a verb.

“Noone” should only appear when referencing the former lead singer of Herman’s Hermits. In all other cases it should be “no one.”

I don't worry much about FReeper grammar , but our Sec'y of Education?????????? I couldn't resist correcting a document written by one of our assistant superintendents of schools. He had totally confused the "ensure", "insure", "assure" issue. After I corrected it, I got into a major argument with him and several school principals over who was right.
I was right.

How about the bizarro pronunciation of the words Can't, Shouldn't, Couldn't, Didn't, Wouldn't that I have heard in person and on the radio?
Shouldn't = Shunt “ You shunt adun that “
Didn't = Dint “ I dint do it! “
Wouldn't = Wunt “ I wunt worry about it “
and so on.
Very odd - it bothers me ALOT ( my favorite nonword )

Haven't read the thread, Fred, but the repeating commas baffle me.
To wit: ",,,"
What gives?
