As to all the trash talk being bellowed here and in the Dallas media and sports radio, I've heard the same stale old arguments over and over and over again and again ever since the Cowboys started playing with Eddie LaBaron at QB and rookie Dandy Don nipping at his heels. Every newspaper (we had four in Dallas back then plus Ft Worth's 3) and everybody and their dog shouted to high heaven what a lousy coach Tom Landry was, the player were all money hungry, prima donnas or no talent has-beens or both!

Rewrite that above sentence with any past or present Cowboy QB, coach, player or owner and it has at one time or the other been proclaimed loud enough to wake the dead in Outer Mongolia or in the ancient sands of Mars!

Hell, even Captain America, the immortal Roger Staubach had his media boo-birds and naysayers! "He only won half of his Super Bowls" or such crap.

Dallas is a bitcher’s town. Always has been and always will be. That is the only downside to being a True-Blue Cowboy's fan. I want them to win a Super Bowl ever year, but when they don't, I figure next year we will.

The Dallas Cowboys have been in 8 of the 42 Super Bowls that have ever been played (That's nearly 20% of those played!) and won 5. No other team has been there more nor won more, so even with all the so-called baggage, I'll take being a Dallas Cowboys fan over any other team.

But it helps to have a thick skin and a large... bladder

And, of course, being... drop dead, follow him-to-hell-handsome is a also a plus I enjoy!

I have an old jersey somewhere in my storage unit that has the Houston Oilers' logo on it and says in big Columbia blue letters "SUPER BOWL NEXT YEAR."

I got a lot of wear out of that shirt. :)
