North Haven, CT (January 2009)From U.S. Service men and women around the world to law enforcement agencies across the country, Mossberg shotguns have experienced nearly four decades of combat and combat readiness in the hands of armed forces world-wide. Enjoying a long-standing relationship with the U.S. armed forces, Mossberg is the manufacturer of the only 12 gauge pump action shotgun ever to pass the stringent U.S. Military Mil-Spec 3443 standard.
Now, for 2009 Mossberg will make available select 590A1 models to the general public. All models will come standard with heavy-walled barrels, metal trigger guards and safety buttons in a durable Parkerized finish. A full range of sighting options will be available in front bead, ghost ring rear or 3-dot configurations. Several variations of stocks will also be available with wood, synthetic, speed feed and adjustable aluminum. All 590A1 models come drilled and tapped from the factory making it easy to mount a Picatinny rail, scope base or other optic options. Other accessories available for the 590A1 are heat shields, Picatinny rails as well as orange buttstocks and forearms for training purposes.
The Mossberg shotgun has a proven place not only in the field but also for home/personal defense.
I guess that there's either a fine line for tricking out your gun, or I'm just a big gun hypocrite.
Most likely the latter.
;-)
I prefer the 930 SPX.
I bought two Maverick 88 20 gage guns before Christmas. They do not have a 18.5 inch replacement barrel ... only thier 12 gage has replaceable barrels in 18.5 inches. You can buy a slug barrel however. I cut both of mine off at 19 inches from cahmber entry. Great home defense weapons, when you remove the wooden three shell plug and cut the barrel down!
I'd opt for a Knoxx recoil-reducing stock.
I already have enough guns that kick like mules on crack.
A saiga 12 with a fully loaded MD arms 20 rd drum weighs less than a Remington 870
The AK bolt carrier takes a buttload of the kick out
A pump action with a pistol grip and anything above bird shot is asking for a broken wrist.
My saigas have full stocks as does my 870
I was eyeing the Tromix conversions on the atlanticfirearms.com site, and they looked pretty fun. Very expensive, but fun.
You don't even need to shoot someone with that thing. Just point it at them and melt their retinas.
I thought about the conversion but its all looks and In some cases actually detract from function
This is all you need, and if you bought a saiga a couple years ago, this config would be about $550
Does that pump grip lock up?
I would stick to bird shot
Just show ‘em the lights and clack it.
That’s bird shot, believe me
You like Saiga?
I’ve had mine since eerrrr the last scary time when the sky was falling.
parkerized, ghost ring sights, and tactical loads always ready. only shot it a couple times.
Love it.
I have a saiga 12 and an 870 clone sitting here.
Guess which one is ready to go?
There are a few videos there of stupid people. Mostly guys talking their girls into stuff they shouldn’t. The jiggly one wasnt bad though.
