I now know what it must have felt like, for the men on Corregidor.

They knew their position was lost, they watched the hordes approaching, and they knew there was nothing to stop them, and no help would come.

The only course was to surrender, and submit to the coming Death March, knowing that they could not affect the outcome, except that each day they survived was a small victory.

Geez, that's a very apt comparison. But we aren't lost yet. Just consider: We have the farms, the God, and the guns.
