Isn’t it obvious that it’s a browser window?. I mean, even if it is resized and even if the bookmarks bar, status bar, tab bar and toolbar are removed from the window, you still have the last remnant of the Safari window left — to recognize it as a Safari window and not an e-mail window (from the e-mail program).

And besides, if the e-mail program is not open and this comes up, then it’s obvious what is going on. And even if the e-mail window is open and that means you’ve already received e-mail, it would be questionable why this message is coming up *after* your password has already gone through...

This is a very ineffective way to get someone to enter in on a browser window (through a pop-up) some info that they never have to do normally. If that works for any of the phishers, it’s amazing that it does... LOL...

Thanks for the interesting info, ST.

My post was meant to warn users like myself who never had the school course on “IT language.” I believe your more complete explanation will be a further help to them.
