A female black and white English springer spaniel. I had two, but lost one to cancer a month ago. My other guy is way too lonely now and cries and howls whenever I leave the house, so I hope he likes having a needle teethed puppy around.
Thanks for the advice about the crate. I think you're right. Do you recommend a crate size for a springer?
They're just about the size of my undersized Labs -- so I'd recommend a 24 x 36 crate. You can get them with a temporary divider to reduce the size of the crate for a small puppy. You want her to understand that she can't soil her den . . . and sometimes if you have a big crate and a small puppy she'll conclude that the FAR END of the crate is o.k.
My older Lab was not really happy about a crazy young puppy, but she's adapted (after putting Miss Ruby firmly in her place a time or two).
