It would take me less time to list the Christmas songs I like, as in general I don’t care for holiday music as most of it sounds hokey, dated, or both. But “Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time” makes me retch like no other seasonal song can.

My sentiments exactly. I have the urge to track down and kill McCartney every time I'm stuck hearing that loser.

Another horrible song largely (thankfully) forgotten is "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth". Even as a 4-year-old, I thought it was stupid.

“All I Want For Christmas” was originally recorded by Spike Jones and his City Slickers. Looking over the Spike Jones discography it wouldn't be too great a stretch to assume this song goes along with the rest of that silliness and was never intended to become a Christmas Classic. Unfortunately, much of the Spike Jones stuff is forgotten except this song and “Der Fuehrer’s Face”.
