NOT much meat on a Guinea pig. Not enough for one person.

In Mexico guinea pigs are called “cuyo” and they are very tasty. I have never eaten one with the head or feet still attached, but I don’t like to eat fish with the head attached, either.

“To each his own,” said the man, kissing a cow.

Isn’t guinea pig supposed to put lead-in-your-pencil, or am I thinking of something else. Just thinking.

They take guinea pig raising as seriously in Peru as turkey raising is taken here. Peru has a very poor population and this is a staple in their diet. I think it’s great that they are taking an active interest in feeding their population rather than waiting for handouts from the UN like so many other poor countries.

Only when you serve it with black-eyed peas.

My daughters raised just about every type of animal they could for FFA & 4H. As we sat down to dinner one night the younger daughter said she didn’t want to know its name but just what kind of meat it was.

From Dear Santa by Sean Morrey (one of my favorite Christmas songs):

Dear Santa, this is Billy from Dallas. I would like a big wheel with the air conditioning package, power steering, cd player, and also a Sony Playstation.

Dear Santa, this is Raul from Venezuela. I want a stick! To burn for heat!

Dear Santa, this is Jessica from Aspen. I'd like a Barbie Dreamhouse with the electric sports car, lots of outfits and matching outfits for me too please.

Dear Santa this is Loupay from Paraguay. I want some rain. So I can stop drinking my own urine...

That is the most disturbing story ever! I quite enjoyed it, thanks.

> A painting of the Last Supper hanging in a Peruvian cathedral shows Christ and the 12 disciples feasting on guinea pig.

Thanks, nice find. I’m glad there isn’t a picture of the Last Supper showing Christ and the Disciples eating live monkey brain with chopsticks. At least, I don’t *think* there is...

I’ve had pigeon many times. It is one of my favorite dishes when I travel to China. I have even cooked it at home. I have to admit, I have little trouble eating most things. When I travel I kind of go with the flow.
