Finally able to get on the internet. We had a torrential down pour here in Eagle Rock last night or should say wee hours am this morning, knocking out our power. We lost power then (2:30am) and have been without power until this afternoon. And oh has it been cold inside and out!

Just finished another gullywash around 5pm...

I'm sure you'll forgive me being really happy about this:
Statement as of 10:07 PM PST on December 16, 2008

Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 8 PM PST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Winter Storm Warning for the combination of strong winds and heavy
snow. This warning is in effect until 8 PM PST Wednesday.

Heavy snow will develop tonight as the ingredients come together
especially in the foothills and the eastern portion of the valley.
Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts
to 12 inches are expected through Wednesday evening. In
addition... northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph with
gusts to 40 mph will develop Wednesday.

Motorists traveling along Highway 14 and 138 should prepare for
treacherous winter driving conditions. If possible... motorists
should delay travel through the Antelope Valley until conditions improve.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
