A remarkable video has been filmed of craft over the night skies above the city of Santiago in Chile last week on December 10th. The video shows what appears to be a large UFO 'mothership' hovering over the skyline,

...no jets have ever been scrambled with orders to pursue and shoot if needed.

Very, very wrong, according to Mercury 7 astronaut Gordo Cooper. In his bio "Leap of Faith"he wrote that fighter jocks were ordered to do just that many times, and he was one of those fliers.

Not to float your boat, kempo, but I noticed also that the site I clicked to to watch the video was sponsored by a company that makes RC (remote-control) airplanes.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more "I Don't Want to Believe"* types here suggest that people are being fooled by very popular, affordable new electric RC helicopters. They're amazingly agile in the air, able to hover and stop and do all kinds of maneuvers, and are silent.

Of course, there's a reason electric RC helicopters couldn't be the explanation of any dramatic night sightings of silent craft (daytime, maybe, but not night sightings). The helicopter might be able to ferry the weight of the lights, but never the weight of the batteries to power them.

*"I Don't Want to Believe" I hope and pray that we all live to old, old age and die contentedly never knowing the truth about UFOs, instead still having the silly arguments like we have here on blessed FR happily into our final days many decades from now. I don't want to believe they're out there ... but then, there's a lot of bad stuff I don't want to believe. However, I'd rather be prepared mentally than ambushed, and I think that when these things/critters make themselves officially known to us, it will be the beginning of the darkest days we humans have seen. I place my faith in Christ and the Lord God Almighty.

Healthy skepticism will not win friends and influence people. :)

This is what’s consistently frustrating about UFO evidence, it’s typically low quality and after the fact.

Someone sees something in the sky and if they have a video cam or cell phone camera a grainy picture of it is taken.

What you need is professional equipment that’s capable of measuring distance along with optics that can compensate for atmospheric disturbance.

Then you have to go out and find something to document, not wait for someone to report it after the fact.

Until then, it will be low quality and unconvincing.

If any millionaire wants to fund my scheme, please step forward. :)

Healthy skepticism will not win friends and influence people. :)

Nor will flatly accusing thousands of military personnel, air traffic controllers, astronauts, professionals, blue-collar workers, farmers, regular Joes, moms, dads, pilots, and policemen who claim to have seen these things of being either ridiculously dense and delusional or else bold-faced liars.

Although mysterio's cute habit of referring to aliens as "space monsters" is endearing! He is safe in the knowledge that all that mean, bad stuff he read and saw as a kid in'50s SciFi was make believe. The sad part is that he extends that to mean that thousands of people from all walks of life (including my husband and my Marine step-son) will tell ridiculous lies just to try to frighten him -- and also that our nice, transparent military and government wouldn't go to great lengths to hide, obfuscate, and deny any official knowledge of what would plainly be the biggest threat to national (not to mention global) security of anything yet known to man. No -- they'd never do that ....!!!

There's a "delusional" part that plays a role here, for sure, but IMO it belongs to a whole 'nother set of people ... I ain't mentioning any names, but their initials is mysterio and JoJo Gunn! ;^)

Yet again you sound like a "global warming" type.

Consensus doesn't make ill defined blobs of light concrete "proof".

Why don’t the aliens just land in the middle of a major city at high noon like they do in the movies?

Too much traffic....

Wrong! And I cite the spooky alien music as definitive proof. That was alien music if I ever heard it!

The reporter needs to make up his mind whether it was an unidentified flying object or a mothership. Also, I’m quite curious as to how he knew this was a mothership rather than a small atom underthe fingernail of a much larger mothership. He must have seen a smaller version of this ship before.

Good question. I don't know the answer. I read a little about UFO'S in the early 1960’s. Maybe their insurance policies started requiring them. The first ones(before our aviation) didn't have navigation lights. After a few near misses the lights started appearing.

Back in my yut we used to generate UFO reports by flying trashbags with candles. You can even get formations or swarms by adding a little fishline between bags and a little foil gives a untermitant radar return too.

And the foil makes for some nice random reflections too.

I don't doubt that some people see spooky lights in the sky. I just don't think those well lit craft are piloted by space monsters from outer space.

The hoaxers, though, are liars.

I also don't blame the schizophrenics who recount abduction stories. All I ask is that they keep that stuff on C2C where it belongs and stop ruining my History Channel.
