Unlucky: Black cats less likely to be adopted at shelters

Throughout history, it has conjured up images of witchcraft and magic. In the Middle Ages, it was burned alive for its supposedly supernatural powers.
In North America, it is considered unlucky to cross paths with it.
Many shelters during the month of October ban its adoption out of concern it may be abused as a result of the image it portrays on Halloween. The black cat has come a long way since the 15th century. And though its supernatural image in the 21st century has largely been relegated to folklore and mythology, many in society still consider it a social misfit because of, well, its color, or lack thereof.Indeed, the black cats main enemy is its own genetic makup.

The black one is the sister, and truly is the gentlest soul of any feline i've known.

When I figure out how to do that, I will do so gladly ... as a proud servant of ‘Miss Baby’ and her little ones.

I had a black cat run across the road in front of me and the next morning, my car wouldn’t start (fuel pump relay).
Who says they’re not bad luck?

My mom has a beautiful black cat named Sheba. She just showed up one day. She’s a heck of a mole killer. Petite, loving and has a gorgeous shiny black coat that looks like velvet.

We don't have any all-black cats, but we have rescued several "mostly black" kitty cats.

. The long-haired kitty is Miss Cricket, and the short-haired kitty is MacIntosh.

OMGosh! That is the worst case of stinkeye I've ever seen, and I pill one of my cats 2-3X a week! If looks could kill, we'd be dying a thousand deaths.
We have three black cats because there is some nimrod somewhere in our (huge, rural) neighborhood who has unfixed cats. We have no control over who comes starving to our door, but they're all sweeties.

“In the Middle Ages, it was burned alive for its supposedly supernatural powers.”
It was faggotry like this that helped the Black Death rage across Europe.
imo: God does not want you to slaughter cats.
To: JoeProBono
That’s a hideous superstition ever there ever was one. Black cats are precious kitties like all the others and all they want is love.
