Where's the cat?

She's putting the angel on the tree.

I had a big Christmas tree when my black kitty was young. I decorated it, and lit it up. It was very pretty. I came home after being out shopping, and turned the lights on the tree. I was sitting on my recliner admiring my handiwork in decorating the beautiful tree. However, the more I stared at it, the more I realized something was weird about it. There was an ornament on it that didn’t look quite right. And it wasn’t, it was a cat’s head.

There, among all the other ornaments, staring out from the middle of the tree branches, was my black kitty’s furry head. All you could really see were two green eyes staring out from the branches. She was comfortably ensconced right in the middle of the tree branches, happy as a clam, or should I say as an ornament, and I hated to disturb her bliss. I was also afraid if I startled her, the whole tree would come tumbling down. So I tiptoed over, gently petted her on the top of her exposed head, and reached in for the middle part of her body and lifted her out from her perch.

Ever since I now use only tabletop trees. Luckily, they now have such lovely small decorated trees. Mine is in a white kind of grecian urn, with gold little decorative balls, and pinecones and white flowers and clear lights. I love it, and it is cat free. Although, I must say I truly did enjoy my “kitty” ornament in that tree years ago.
