You know, that’s a thought I’ve had, too. However, I don’t want to get into MLM marketing or the sort of sales stuff like Mary Kay or Pampered Chef - good companies, good products, but not something that I see as recession-proof.

I believe there’s a lot of work available filling out insurance paperwork. Good luck with whatever you find. :-)
There are probably a lot of small companies who could use a part time bookkeeper from home. If it is a few person shop, they don't want to hire someone to do that but would be willing to pay someone for a few hours of work per week to turn a stack of bills and receipts into proper accounting records.
If you have skills in bookkeeping and office work, how about working as a consultant setting up bookkeeping for small businesses? If you know anything about finances, perhaps you could work as a consultant for people who have money problems?
I would think the latter might be a growth industry......
