Sad ending for a wonderful voice.
Absolutely.
Thanks for the memory.
Yes, and just as toddlers assert their sense of self with the "NO!" phase, teenagers and young adults often reject their parents' values temporarily to assert their independence and adulthood.
In both cases, it's annoying but not necessarily a cause for panic.
:-)
To be honest, my iPod is full of as many sci-fi movies and TV episodes as it can hold - my ride to or from work is about 45 minutes, so that’s perfect for an episode of some TV show.
As far as music goes, I listen to everything from Enya to Dragonforce. However, my current favorites are Coldplay and the Across the Universe soundtrack =)
Kenny Chesney, George Strait
Oh, I like some of the current stuff, too. I have some of Linkin Park's songs. I also like Coldplay and some others.
My iPod has an eclectic mix of just about everything from classical to punk. Sometimes, I want to hear Dire Straits, other times I want to hear Tchaikovsky.
I'm always open to new sounds, though. Music is one of my passions in life. :)
Hardcore History rocks!
I’d say the only thing dorky is hoping, expecting, wanting or caring that your daughter not think you choice of music is dorky. That’s what kids are supposed to think—and parents aren’t supposed to care. (There’s nothing less hip than trying to be hip.)
What’s an IPOD?
Just kidding but I learned long ago to keep the ears free while walking about. God gave us ears to primarily warn us of impending dangers.
Much of Metallica’s latest has grown on me, same as Axle’s efforts. I heard a pirated “IRS” over a year back and was astounded. I sample a lot of You Tube and find the usual: a lot of crap with a few jewels amongst the dross.
I’ve never seen a generation so self-infatuated with their self image. Seems the average guitarist or vocalist is more wrapped up in their latest self-defiling tattoo than working on stuff for their band. Hence we’re hearing a lot of regurgitated pap from the 80’s and 90’s slightly altered to avoid copyright infringements.
Then there’s the awesome weirdness known as Buckethead, a unique Mozart-like prodigy who needs a team of qualified professionals to look after him because he really is insane. He worked on the Chinese Democracy album for a good while. Check out some of his stuff on You Tube.
