My kid’s school doesn’t even have dances, but it’s a small, conservative, private Christian school.

That is the kind of dancing they are talking about. It’s been in the media for a few years, with video shown that would shock most parents.

Reading these comments I think people are picturing Patrick Swayze when they should be picturing Tara Patrick (had to Google that one).

OK, so you and your kids have apparently been lucky enough to miss out on this phenomenon, dirty dancing 101: There are two kinds of dancing that could be called ‘dirty’ dancing: grinding and freaking. Grinding refers to a girl rubbing her butt in a guy’s crotch, or vice versa, or two girls (but never two guys) or a whole chain of people. Freaking refers to kids who act like they’re having sex standing up or dry humping, albeit fully clothed, but often complete with hands where they don’t belong and slobbering all over each other’s exposed skin. Lying on the floor like you mentioned has never been a part of it that I’ve seen, and would become pretty unpopular if someone did think of it because it would limit it to two people, and the girls who do such things still care about their dresses more than they care about their self-respect.
