We may try to drive to the mountains during Christmas vacation. I have been wanting to go to Mammoth Lakes. I don’t know if we will get there or not.
Your little girl in the snow graphic is cute.
*smile*
I read headlines that Denver broke low temp records. It looks like Global Warming everywhere.
I love it when we get new people coming by.
It is almost impossible to realize how little she was and how sweet! LOL
The pictures from yesterday are not what I had hoped for but I will try to get them downloaded and post a couple tomorrow.
I’m glad you are feeling a little better. Be sure to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids .... water, juice, etc.
When Marissa was sick and didn’t feel like eating anything, I gave her jello and also opened a can of chicken broth. She drank the broth.
On average we don’t get snow in eastern MA till after Christmas. Since Global Warming, however, it has snowed before Christmas for a few years now.
Will look forward to seeing her pictures. Did she enjoy the tead?
Tea, that is....not tead~~lol.
Dener’s low temp record was over 100 years old.
Think Algore is dyslexic?
Maybe instead of Global Warming it’s actually supposed to be Ice Age.
We had a good time at the tea.
Two of Marissa’s best friends in pre-school (cousins) moved and Marissa has only seen them once since pre-school. I have stayed in contact with their grandmother.
My friend Ann, Marissa and I met Grammy and her granddaughters, Leah and Zoe, at the Muex Home yesterday. It was a Victorian Home and is now a museum. I could not take pictures inside.
I will get another picture of Marissa at another time. When I took the pictures outside, I did not have her remove her cape because I thought I would be able to take pictures at the table.
Marissa is already asking if we can meet Leah and Zoe again.
Ice Age for sure .... Weatherman is predicting very cold temps Wednesday night. Orange growers are spending a lot of time trying to prepare in hopes of saving their crops.
Hi, Jaycee, I hope you feel better tomorrow than today and the next day better than tomorrow and still better the day after that. Am glad you went to the doctor and can get a handle on what ails ya.
The twice-baked potatoes are not so much a recipe as they are just giving the basic idea and ingredients to 'make' them. See Post #1680 to Dita.
I did forget to mention that when I 'reheat' them at 350 degrees (which is all the second baking really is) after I freeze them, I do keep the foil on top.
CA’s economy is already tanked, now it’s losing its citrus crop. Have you had the locusts yet?
Not yet ..... that will probably be next year’s blow.
Fire, earthquakes, floods, mudslides, killer freezes .... Locusts have to be right around the corner. :)
Our life had always been rather simple. When my wife and I were first married, we were not looking for riches or famejust a way to glorify God with whatever He gave us to do. In all arenas of our life, that purpose stayed clear. As our children grew and I began working at RBC Ministries, our goal continued to center around glorifying God.
But then, in 2002, came bad news of the worst kind. Our third child, 17-year-old Melissa, was unexpectedly ushered into heaven. Suddenly, we were forced to rethink things. Could we, in our new identity as bereaved parents, still find a way to glorify God? Or did this unbearable circumstance alter our perspective and goal?
Weve spent a lot of time pondering that question. When the One youve entrusted with your children allows one of them to be taken, it would be easy to stop trusting, serving, and pointing others to God. But the psalmists words showed us the way. He said that the person who fears God will never be shaken . . . . His heart is steadfast (Ps. 112:6-7). And so weand you, no matter what you are facingcan continue to be steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Even in the face of evil tidings, the task remains: Glorify God.
What a delightful picture of you and dear Marissa,Amy. I am so glad you enjoyed your tea. I must create a " tea" here for our girls soon. Burrrrr it is cold here in Los Angeles this early morning!
Mayor, again thank you for ODB....
Stay warm everyone as we prepare for the Birth of Birth's... Our Lord Jesus Christ. Polly
ps... not sure if this is a graphic from here or another list, but I sure love it. Learning to attach photos/graphics is sure fun for me.
Thanks for your well wishes! Me, too, by the way....gee! Time is short!
I always thought I would love to make the twice-baked potatoes, but I thought they would be so much trouble. But doing them ahead and freezing would sure be the best way to do it. I am sure your guests always loves them. Its morning here now but they even sound good right now! (in other words if one was sitting here in front of me, I would certainly dig in)..LOL! I did see your instructions last night...good job explaining.
Thank you Mr. Mayor for the touching, but lovely message in our Daily Bread this morning.
Have a wonderful day!
