Chicagoans Melody LaLuz, 28, and Claudaniel Fabien, 30, shared their first kiss Saturday at the altar. The two teach abstinence at the city's public schools and practiced what they preached to their teenage students.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the couple had never kissed and that they had never been alone together in a house.

Is that a bhurka she’s wearing in the “romantic” picture?

"To my knowledge, Shomer nagia was not a factor in this decision.

No it wasn't.

Some of the posters were thinking the no kissing thing was cool or extreme.

Shomer nagia is a observance amongst some Jewish peoples that is along the same lines as the article.

(Is it OK, if I say that?)

Wonderful. It sounds like your son is off to an excellent start with the commitments he is making at his age; I’m sure he’ll make some young lady a wonderful husband when that day comes.

I do videography at weddings, and I have been to 7 or 8 weddings over the last two years where the first kiss was shared at the altar.

"Dating" is a relatively new concept. Courtship has a lengthy past, and is honoring to God's word.

“fundamentalist Taliban types”?

Are you seriously suggesting that two people who make a private decision-—a decision they have not demanded anyone else to make—are comparable to Islamic fascists?

Amazing how many self-proclaimed conservatives desire to control another person’s behavior by pressuring non-conformists to conform to the normalcy of the collective.

Sure. Since you only stated “Shomer nagia” in your first post, I went with the assumption that you were asserting that was the reason for their decision.

My apologies as my assumption appears to have been erroneous.

Suprise, your new bride kisses like a walrus!

Suprise, your new husband has anchovy-breath!

No it’s not, and thank you for demonstrating the typical class of a collectivist who lacks the common decency to be respectul of others who have made a decision to do something independent of the normalcy of the collective.

Collectivist? LOL! What planet are you living on. You are way out there, aren’t you. Do you wear a bhurka too?

Well, actually, I didn’t even know about it until the wedding. I just never thought about it and they never volunteered it. Their first kiss in the wedding was a bit different, a little bit showboaty, and that’s how I found out. Once I realized it was their first kiss, I could understand the nature of it.

I gave you the sense in which I was using the term, to demonstrate that I was not meaning it in the usual political sense.

But, your post just made my point for me; it bothers you that two individuals made an individual decision that has nothing to do with you or anyone else and will not affect you or any other person, so you attempt to disparage their decision via jejune insults and insinuations.

Perhaps you can explain why it bothers you so greatly that they did something outside of the normalcy of the collective.

I started my second marriage in the same manner.

It is the very best way.

Kissing, for people practicing chastity, can be more intense than for people who are not, and can quickly and lead to other activities.
