Not to be disparaging but it probably is a good idea that you not look at this line of work. You have to WANT it. If you are going to be successful in a business of your own you are going to have to do what everyone else doesn't want to do or can't do for themselves. I've always wanted a nice toasty corner office and a secretary with big tits. Didn't get 'em then, don't have 'em now. I have started and run a number of businesses.

I was da bossman, da head honcho, da big cheese. I can't tell you how many times that meant that I slept on a cold concrete floor because I was too damn tired to even get in the car and drive home. Employees get off at five. The boss stays until the job is finished. Sometimes it was forty or forty-eight hours straight. Just home long enough to shower and shave.

It's a damn strange feeling to unlock your front door, walk in and see that everything is so unfamiliar.

THAT is what owning your own business is, especially if you have more than one. Not everyone can do it or wants to do it. Thats alright, but recognize the limitations. It ain't all peaches and cream and big paychecks.

Being the boss was never the easiest job and anyone who believes that is sadly mistaken.

My dad and uncle run their own heavy equipment/construction business and for them it is a 7 day/week operation, sunup to sundown.

Thanks for the lecture, but you’re too late...LOL I’ve already owned my own small business years ago, so am familiar with it all.

Now I’m more interested in a less complex life. Not looking to get rich. Just thinking of being self-employed again with a small investment type situation. The simple life is more appealing to me now.
