Receivers in general are a whacky bunch -- "Ocho Cinco," T.O., Plax, Moss, etc.
They're free to act like prima donna idiots because, for the most part, they avoid the consistent physical beating most other players experience.

I think the Giants are going to run the Redskins right out of Fed Ex Field tomorrow.

A recent thread on FR asked which Freepers you wish were still here. I mentioned your scruffy old conservative arse and there you are. And of course by starting a Giant thread. Miracles never cease!

No he won’t. Burress is turning into the 2008 version of Jeremy Shockey from last season and frankly, the Giants will do fine without him. Let Coughlin and/or the NFL suspend him for the rest of the regular season—less distraction for the team, that’s to be sure.

What’s the first rule of firearm safety?
A firearm is always loaded.
Unless you’re holding just the barrel in your hand, it’s loaded.

D'oh! My Redskins weren't going to have to deal with him tomorrow, anyhoo - he's out with a stretched hammy.

I too am a Pats fan (dangerous thing to admit in these parts), and while I generally agree with your post, my initial reaction to the misfortune of poor Mr. Burress went more like this:
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I a sore loser? You betcha!!

Just heard on ESPN that sources in the NYC DA’s office say Plax will do time even if he pleads down.

Best defense in the NFL offset by a feckless offense.
Beginning to look now like we won't even make the playoffs.

"Just heard on ESPN that sources in the NYC DAs office say Plax will do time even if he pleads down."Time" as in 'Community Service.' Or a week of two treated like a King in the slammer.
They'll make it seem as though they're gonna come down on Plax - maybe attach an ankle 'bracelet'; If he does any significant "time," I'd be shocked.

True. Until they go over the middle and get blasted by some psycho LB ;-)

"Burress is turning into the 2008 version of Jeremy Shockey from last season and frankly, the Giants will do fine without him. Let Coughlin and/or the NFL suspend him for the rest of the regular seasonless distraction for the team, thats to be sure."We're doing it already without Plax - yeah, just like Shockey. Except Plax was actually good; Shockey was incredibly overrated. Plax would come in handy during the playoffs, so I admit to having mixed feelings about his remaining/leaving the team for the rest of the season.
It'll be interesting to learn just how the City of NY and the Giants' brass handles the situation.

No...definitely not. My son’s NYPD and he knows what happens with these since they changed the law: he will do hard time even in a plea down to a Class D felony. This CANNOT be pleaded down to a misdemeanor.
