Most states prohibit carrying in a bar, not sure about NY, but am wiling to bet they do so.

This Plaxico Burress human unit went to the Michael Irvin/Nate Newton Cowboyz “school” of staining his/his team’s reputation.

It was like pulling teeth to get him to say he was wrong. As soon as he inked that 35 mil $ contract, he’s been a TOTAL a-hole. On the field he can be brilliant, and he does play hurt...BUT... he has zero charatcer.

Didn’t hear about the “pulling teeth” characterization but I’m sure his team mates would.

I’m not clear on the details yet, but was joking with someone that his agent right now is spinning one helleva story.

Clearly, he had no business to have a gun in a nightclub. If he is concerned a place doesn’t have adequate security then he should hire a bodyguard.

So there’s no outs for Plex on this one.

300+..just ask Collier for Jacksonville, who had his legs amputated due to multiple gun shot wounds.

THese guys are targets and there have been a few good articles recently about how even Ben Roethlisberger had a guy point a gun at him but other people and his own talking got the guy to back off and leave.

There are some real a-holes around and no longer are they worshipped by certain elements—they’re targets for home invasion, robbery and murder (like Sean Taylor and Darrent Williams and many others.)

What baffles the hell out of my is why the Giants ever signed him in the first place.

Guys like Jeremy Shockey and Plaxico Burress never would have even gotten a serious look back in the George Young / Bill Parcells era.

Give me a break. Just because something is permissible, does not make it prudent in all circumstances.

No outs is right.

Here's a quote from the NY Times article today which makes the point I was making before about "pulling teeth," emphasis added:

Burress, 31, has shrugged off past problems with little contrition, often describing his job as little more than catching passes, not being a team leader.

And, for those interested, it was a .40 cal.

Three year mandatory minimum for possession of an unregistered gun in NYC.

Of course, maybe not being a “small person”, but a rich sports figure he will get off. After all the Gov. didn’t get prosecuted for buying whores - how can any policeman in NY honestly justify busting a hooker or john again. What a joke that state is. FNY.

Lawrence Taylor used to go to clubs...

LT had a nightclub. Up the road from the stadium.

Forgot about that...but you are correct, sir! It went out of business not long after it opened, if I remember correctly.

A .40 is a surprise. Thought it would be something smaller, wow.
