Lincoln was a tyrant who ran roughshod over the Constitution, jailed his critics, shut down newspapers that did not agree with him and arrested their publishers and editors, ordered the arrest of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court because said justice issued an opinion contrary to Lincoln’s desires, instituted the country’s first income tax, and in general was a fascist’s dream and a free man’s nightmare.
