Thought this was an interesting story. Very nice idea, but I hope she/they are cautious. There have been so many stories about predators and weirdos coming from Craig's List. I hope they have a nice Thanksgiving with normal, thankful, decent people.

I’d keep an eye on the silverware just the same.

People literally have posted “Estate Sale: Everything Goes!” items on Craigslist on other people's homes. Then, when the people aren't there, everybody loots their possessions.
Sounds like a naive person to me.

Craigslist is topshelf...Great site..
You post on that site for just about anything, you'd better expect your phone to ring.
I've bought and sold lots of stuff on their site, with zero problems.

32 strangers coming over? Hire at least 4 security guards. It will be cheaper than replacing everything that comes up “missing” if you don’t hire the security guards (sorry to sound like a cynic, but caution should be in order).
If I were her and wanted to share, I would have donated the money she is spending on this, to a soup kitchen or homeless shelter, not bring all those strangers into my home.

She sounds like a sweet woman; I hope this doesn’t turn into an unpleasant event that forever tarnishes all future Thanksgivings for her. I’ve had good luck buying from Craigslist, I don’t think I’d ever use that site for social networking though.

I’m not sure it is wise to be an idealist in this day and age. It might have been a better idea to host this where other dinners like this were taking place. I hope decent people who are just down on their luck and okay people come.

I say God bless this woman. Her example of giving thanks is heart warming. I wish her a safe and happy holidays.
I pray those who will join her will thank their gracious hostess as well.
