I need a pick up to haul a chord of wood, 4 wheelers, equipment, dirt, etc.
GM produces the best line of pick-ups (IMHO) to accomplish that, maintain their value, and offer very decent maintainability in that regard.
I buy a fuel efficient car for my wife to get back and forth to grocery shopping, errands, and her work. I buy a vehicle for my purposes that can do the work, be maintained, and offer good resell value when it is time to replace it. GM has offered such vehicles for what I need and I do not apologize to anyone for buying them and using them.
Trucks have always been the saving grace of GM. Unfortunately, they crank out alot of crap cars.
Same here! My daily driver is a '97 Grand Am and my toy car is a '97 Z28.
No real problems with either car for about 3 years now...well, except for the ones that were by my own doing!(with the Z)
.....that is exactly why I buy about 2 or 3 a year for work.....
.....(kinda didn't have a choice at first, my father worked as a service manager for a Chevy dealership before starting our company!).....
.....as far as the wife goes.....
.....she's driven the best made, safest, smallish, suv made in America for the last 8 or so years.....
.....made right here in Upstate SC, BMW X5.....
.....it's too small for my taste, but it's a great car.....
That a Duramax, Jeff?
You do the same thing we do in our household, only we’re a Chrysler family. My hubby has a Dodge Ram Cummins. It’s his work horse and his hobby. He’s obsessed with diesel engines. He has a 1994 Mecury Topaz we pawned off his parents that’s his run around vehicle.
I have a Dodge Avenger and love it.
The Ford F-150 is the best selling vehicle in American history. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned.
A neighbor has an old F-150, uses it for work, with almost 750,000 miles on it, on it's 2nd or motor, and he drives it daily. What is surprising is how clean he has kept it.
