As always, I have ulterior motives. After seeing the cost of period correct ladies garments, tea dresses, day dresses and ball gowns, the choice was obvious....a new Singer was on the horizon.

The cost of these period correct accoutrements were beyond my reach. Mr. Singer provided a marvelous machine at a moderate cost. I could have fielded my own mortar.

Quilting by hand stitch is prevalent in the camp I hear tell.
