Check is probably in the mail. ;)
I imagine this will be only one of many breech of contract lawsuits before the end of next year.
It’s cold down here too, I think someone left the north gate open again.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and to all.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you.
Remember to include our military, here and overseas, and their families in your prayers today.
Happy Thanksgiving back at you and all.
Backatcha ST, and amen. I’m off and away to grandma’s house to burn up some free range yams.
Perhaps a few wafer thin mints?
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Hey, I got 88!
One of my fondest Thanksgivings was one that almost wasn’t. Son was changing duty stations and could not get a flight down until Thanksgiving Day. Told Mom we would just have to have dinner without him because he wouldn’t be here until late. She gave me this GTH look and said “We’ll wait.”
We had the full Thanksgiving spread at 10:00 at night.
He missed the next three running, hopefully Ben won’t.
all the kids and grandkids made the rounds here and I was able to eat myself into a coma, but I'm much better today.
thought I'd post a tidbit for the next targeted date to check on our social calender...
Traffic is always a nightmare in and around Washington, DC. Now, imagine being the truck driver
charged with delivering the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree and maneuvering a specially designed 80-foot trailer through the busy streets to its final resting place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
However, thats exactly what OOIDA member Gordy Grove of Langley, WA, has done twice.
Grove, who drives for National Van Lines, delivered the tree right on schedule on Monday, Nov. 24.
OOIDA Vice President Todd Spencer was on hand to witness him roll into DC with his precious cargo a 73-foot subalpine Fir hand-picked from Montana. Spencer also had a chance to speak with Grove about his twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Gordy is a really good operator, a super nice guy and a true professional, Spencer told Land Line Magazine on Wednesday, Nov. 26. He really impressed the folks from the U.S. Forest Service. They had nothing but complimentary things to say about Gordy and his great driving abilities in maneuvering the trailer where it needed to be.
Two staffers in OOIDAs DC office were also there when Grove arrived with the tree, including Rod Nofziger, director of government of affairs, and Melissa Theriault, associate director of government affairs.
The whole event was a reminder of everything that is good in our country something that is easily forgotten given the current economy, Theriault told Land Line. It was truly an honor to watch an OOIDA member deliver the Capitol tree.
The tree will be formally lit in a special lighting ceremony by Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
In 2006, Grove was tapped on to deliver the 65-foot Pacific silver fir tree from his home state of Washington to Capitol Hill.
That’s a serious Christmas tree!
Morning, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
-
Same here, Hope everyone else is well as well.
I quit after two plates.. and pie.

Those are good sized loads,,
Nice trees. that must be fun to maneuver the rigs.
Biggest load I ever hault was hot asphalt.. trees smell a lot better. :-)
Sounds like you and yours had a fine Thanksgiving! Good deal.
I stopped about a half-a-plate short of the coma stage, thinking I'd be smart.
Turned out to be about a half-a-plate too much anyway!
Then there was that whole Lazy-Boy thing to deal with, I lost the battle........
The smarter half, couple of her girlfriends and the baby girl went out about 9:00am for that combat shopping thing....5 hours later, no sign of them.
The boy and I had planned on doing some rocket stuff this morning but the weather said other wise. We have had about two solid days of rain....nice change, for sure. This morning was unreal - fog!
I got the boy up at 6:45, "you gotta see this..." - man, you could not see across the street, it was so thick. Glad I took the day off cuz it was accident city on the roads - "Can't see - slow down? - Not Me!" Moron's......
Too wet to get out into the desert with a non-4x4 (and I have been stuck in a wet desert WITH a 4x4, very ugly!) so the boy and I went shopping - for food, no crowds there!
Got a 5 lb. flat and a 3 1/2 lb hunk of bologna on the smoker right now.
Listening to the Space Shuttle activity on the Ham radio, football on the TV in the other room........
Life is good! :)
Great pics Pete.
sorry I didn’t get back here until now, there’s been so much going on I had to go back 3 pages in pings to find Nascar.
Here is a video for all Jr fans.
At the end of it, the scrolling copy stated: "It was a season that all us "JR" fans wish could have been better."
I'll nominate it for understatement of the year. And looking forward to 2009!
Our son showed up yesterday eating a chocolate dipped Fresh Freeze. His mother was not happy so after he left we went up and had our own. It is only 8 blocks north...
