What makes you think the Fairness Doctrine wont apply to Satellite too???

It shouldn’t - Satellite does not have licenses that come up for FCC renewal, as far as I know - the fairness doctrine only applies to the public “airwaves.” Just like the FCC doesn’t get to tell govern cable.

Of course, it was the FCC that held up the XM/Sirus merger after the DOJ approved it, asking for guarantees regarding rates, and the addition of “community” stations, and I couldn’t figure out where they had any say in the matter!
