Could the latest uptick in larger scale "pirate" seizures be an effort to bait U.S. Naval Forces to the area? Certainly no other ship in the world projects power such as a U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier? A Carrier Task Force would make an inviting target for an unconventional attack using small pirate surface craft as a distraction with a more devastating blow coming from a Silkworm or Exocet variant. Your Thoughts?

I really hope we don’t get into Somalia again. We don’t need another black hawk down incident.

The US Navy is now a paper tiger thanks to political correctness. Ditto the British navy. The Indians know how to deal with Islam and their darker complexion means they can shoot back. Under political correctness - white people are racists if they defend themselves.

See Black Hawk Down. The Army begged and pleaded for tanks in Somalia. Congressional Black Causcus, which protected Fannie & Freddie, blocked the tank request because tanks could not be used against Africans (true). If we had one or twoo tanks, our guys would have had very few casualties.

Thank goodness for the Indian Navy.

The navy is also planning to strengthen its presence in the Gulf of Aden. INS Tabar, a stealth frigate with marine commandos aboard, has been patrolling the waters off the Gulf of Aden since October 23.

INS Tabar (F44) (translated as battle axe) is the third of the Talwar-class frigates of the Indian Navy. INS Tabar is the first vessel in the Talwar class to be armed with supersonic BrahMos (PJ-10) anti-ship cruise missiles. She is also equipped with Barak missiles.

I really don’t think a carrier is right for pirate hunting. And besides, they have far more important things to do; larger targets to keep an eye on.

This really annoys the crap out of me! I am VERY happy about what the Indians have done and I congratulate them for being warriors on the right side in the War on Terror. They are brave sailors!

However, there is just NO excuse for Western Navies (including the worlds FINEST Navy, ours!) to not be actively pursuing these Islamic pirates.

To give an excuse that “US Interests are not threatened” is ridiculous as these Islamic pirates are using much of the ransom for funding terrorism.
