This thread finally motivated me to call the Galveston Historical Foundation to find out that the Elissa has survived. I was very happy to find out that it did with relatively minor damage. I know there were a lot of irreplaceable historical sites in the Galveston Island area, but Elissa is one of my favorites.

Elissa has survived but needs new sails. Saw her very soon after the storm.
