There was an interesting program recently on PBS about baboon behavioral change. Baboons are normally quite aggressive and there is a lot of tension and nervousness withing the troop. One large troop took to raiding the garbage heap of a hospital. Naturally the most aggressive got the most loot, unfortunately there was a lot of tuberculosis in that hospital, and presumably infected waste food and body wastes. Soon many baboons were dying, and especially the aggressive ones.

When the troop recovered it had a much gentler nature. There was much mutual grooming behavior and very little tension. What does this say about the future of humans?
