During those years of lurking, did you not notice that “newbies” making a vanity post, as their very first post, are viewed as highly suspect? Not the best way to introduce yourself to FR.
I had a friend back in the 1970s that I’ve lost touch with who was such an overt that when we had a party he would walk up to total strangers and say, “Hi, I’m Ted, you already know your name,” and then go up to the next guest through the door.
Always got a laugh.
