“the word “zek.”

What’s this zek thing. Derbyshire used it too over at NRO in talking about this new “service” thing.

Could you be so kind as to explain?

I learned the term in Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago. It refers to political prisoners in the Soviet Unions labor camps, who were convicted of the Soviet Penal Code's notorious catch-all "Article 58."

“zek” is what they used to call the inmantes of forced labor in the USSR. c.f. Alexander Solzenitzen

so, considering this hypothetical, what are people going to do when the Fed establishes this mandatory conscription of our children as a precondition to their graduation? What if it’s coerced via taxation? What if they criminalize noncompliance?
