Husband and I have been discussing our “emergency preparedness plan”. Also need to find a good finance person (anyone with a reference in central MD, please FReepmail me).
Given the kind of work I do, it’s fairly easy for me to identify what percentage of every dollar of revenue I produce finally ends up in my pockets.
Given that free time is important too, I have turned down situations where I would make more money (in absolute terms) but a higher percentage of each dollar ends up in someone else’s pocket.
And I highly doubt that Obama, or any politician, will convince me that paying more in taxes will benefit me, my family, the economy or the country.
So I will be content to work a bit less and enjoy life (as best I can).
Saddly I will spend less time listning to and watching the news..especially politics..Even..CHOKE..maybe spending less time on FR..just to keep myself sane...

When he takes office, I will be on a cruise. When I come home, I will get a bag of popcorn and watch Obama supporters’ reactions when they discover they have to pay their bills.
I copied Obama’s economic plan from his website, and intend to remind people via letters to newspapers, blog postings, personal contacts, just what he promised. Here is an example:

I intend to be a vocal part of the loyal opposition.
Being retired, we travel around the country a lot. My plan is to use the county by county voting map showing red and blue counties to plan our trips. Goal will be to fuel, eat, lodge, and visit attractions in RED counties. Sorry to all that must endure the BLUE areas, but that’s my current plan. Open to other suggestions and am still waiting to see the official map. Backup plan is to only visit RED states to spend our tourist dollars.
