After George W. Bush defeated Al Gore, and later John Kerry, for the presidency, countless Democrat-owned cars bore bumper stickers with clever phrases like 'Not My President' or 'Don't Blame Me I Voted for Kerry'.
As a conservative evangelical Christian who voted for McCain-Palin, and for every other Republican on the ballot yesterday, let me say for the record: Barack Obama is my president.
I stayed up past midnight to watch his victory speech. I wept (a little less than Jesse Jackson) because the moment stirred me with gratitude for how God has thus far corrected America's most crippling birth defect -- racist discrimination.
I take my president-elect at his word when he says to those who didn't vote for him: "I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your president too."
Mr. President, the best thing you can do for us is to lead a new generation to live out the American dream as you have. In other words, President Obama, I pray that your example will serve to create a wave of citizens whose lives follow your own storyline.
This would produce an America comprised of people who...
* can choose where to school their children (as your Mom chose private school for you), * work hard to achieve their goals, * dedicate themselves to lifelong learning, * marry persons of the opposite sex and remain faithful to them, * bear living children and bring them up in a two-parent home, * take advantage of free markets and their own skills to earn money, * negotiate their own compensation, * manage that money responsibly, * demonstrate a willingness to serve our nation.
Mr. President, while your official policy statements envision a nation very different from the one that produced your extraordinary success story, I know that you're still relatively new to civic life and you seem willing to learn. You strike me as a quick study, who can really make a difference when he sets his mind to it.
Leaders tend to attract people who are like them, and to inspire people to emulate them. Sometimes it's hard to recognize the factors that have shaped our own existence. Take a moment to consider how your life exemplifies the principles that have made this nation great.
What we need now is not policies to implement your stated ideology. We need for you to recognize the true power behind your own inspiring story.
The author has drunk the Cool-Aid.
I stopped reading here. Clearly this man has no judgment.
Talk about licking the boot that kicks you.
As a conservative Christian........he WILL NOT or WILL NEVER BE my President. Period.
Not mine!
has thus far corrected America’s most crippling birth defect — racist discrimination.
This has to be a joke or just plain naivete. The way Barry and company played the race card in this race leads you to believe this has helped in some way?
I pledge NEVER to bash the man or his family. However I reserve the right to absolutely disagree with my dying breathe any of Pres. Obama’s tax increases, spending increases, intrusions on my personal liberty, his administration not defending this country, the constitution, or the ideals of this nation. This, I will Swear.
Nice essay. Let’s hope Obama takes it to heart. That would be a very good outcome indeed.
When you take off the rose-colored glasses, Scott, you’ll see a gray gulag where America once stood.
This fraud is not going to be my president.
We will fight him at every turn. As much as possible we will fight the liberal agenda and hopefully force him into being a one term president—just like Carter.
We will give him as much support as the left gave to President Bush.
He is our president but that doesn’t mean we don’t fight for our beliefs.
Good God! Is he kidding?
See post #13
Clearly this man has no judgment.
That was a man who wrote that? Ah, lol, didn’t see the name Scott and thought otherwise.
This guy “Scott” is an outright liar if he states he’s an Evangelical Christian.....
The Abortion issue outwieghs everything....
He has fundmentally participated in the futherance of abortion if he supports Obama in any way.
First, it was a sin (going all the way back to the roots of Christianity) to vote for Obama because of his stated previous support of infanticide.
Second, since Obama PROMISED to Planned Parenthood and NOW that he would, when elected, push for and sign the Womans Reproductive Rights Act, they have actively participated in abortion.
Ding, ding, ding.....thats the express elevator to Hell ringing for 54% of the Christians.....and the sad thing is, they cant reverse it....Only true and complete repentance before God could help, and quite frankly, if they didnt understand the issue before, this will never happen.
Obama has done more damage than Satan to dessimate the Christians and willfully mislead its flock......
Exactly, and well said. He is our President whether we like it or not. To attack him personally is no better then what the moonbats did on a daily basis to President Bush and his family. In my eyes anything they would say after that lost all credibility. We have every right to disagree with policies and argue to our dying day he adhere to constitutional law in his handling of the Office of President.

Dream on.
