Time for “Contract with America 2”

To the Honorable Republicans Ladies and Gentlemen of next year’s Congress of 2009: Time for “Contract with America 2”

TOPICS: AMERICA - The Right Way!!; Free Republic Policy/Q&A; Freeoples
KEYWORDS: contractwamerica; repulicancongress
To the Honorable Republicans Ladies and Gentlemen of next year’s Congress of 2009 I have the following brief comments: 1) Begin a “Contract with America 2” like the minority Republicans of the House in 1994 when the Democrats under Clinton had both House and Senate. It was a simple promise that said, “America this is what we promise that we are going to do: Lower taxes and etcetera”. Those good O time conservative winning items! The “Contract with America 1” won Congress back to the Republican side after about 40 plus years of Democratic control. So in only 2 years from the time when the Democrats took everything in 1992, clear vision and focus won the day. 2) To the Honorable Senate members, filibuster should be you first and last names these next 2 years. Shut down any and all tax increases. 3) The Republican / Bush tax cuts which will be eliminated in the next year or so and this topic ought to be the rallying cry to the American people. Stick it, pin it, and glue it to the Democrats right now. 4) The time to begin is now! So God's speed to you all!

PS History Lesson: Back in 1992, the Republicans under Bush 1 had no credibility and the US was in recession. But the vision and leadership with that the “Contract with America” inspired people to stand up for what was right and believe in to win the battle in only 2 years (If anything one thing lost the election this time, it was this). And again back in 1980, Reagan had this ability to tell everyone what was right and to be proud of what you believed in (lower taxes, God and Country …) with the result that the Republicans took control of the White house and Senate. But it might be said, “America won’t be receptive again”. I would answer this in the follow way: 1976 Carter, 1992 Clinton, and 2008 “The Chosen”. The time interval is about 16 years for America to forget and rediscover that same good O Republican conservatism. It will take the Chosen One only a few months to show everyone what he really is and will thus provide the opportunity for us to say, “Time for a real change”. So it is time to ring the Liberty Bell of Freedom once more from those who are for “of the People, for the People, by the People" type of goverment (ie a lot less). So let it ring!

Newt’s Contract with America didn’t say anything about abortion, gay marriage, etc. Would CwA 2 be possible without them in the current make up of the Republican Party?

>> Honorable Republicans <<

There is nothing “honorable” about the republican party. After 50 years in the party I’m out! They could not win dog catcher any longer!

Term limits ... did your Congressman get your vote yesterday ... and if so which term is it?

Why do people want a law to limit terms when votes can do that ... that is looking for government to do what you should do for yourself.
