Obama - how fast will he go full-bore commie or will he stay the course?

Posted on 11/05/2008 2:55:43 AM PST by so_wut

Obama got where he is by playing it cool, Saul Alinsky-style (look him up on wikipedia) . Never showed his true thoughts on anything and always wore a tie. Speak moderately and don't frighten the squares. Will he suddenly go openly commie or will he keep up what has worked so far, moving slowly? A few judges here, a few redistrictings there, over there a slowly asphyxiated industry or two. Just little enough to not rouse the slumbering masses until it's too late for them to get his hands off the levers of power.

I'm afraid that it'll be like the storied frog that sat in the water and never noticed the temperature rise to boiling. If he tore off his mask immediately, he'd be finished and 2010 would see the end of his effectiveness.

I think he or his handlers are way too smart for that. In fact, he may at first even seem a moderate influence compared to obvious loonies like Nancy Pelosi or Jim Moran.

Scary.

He’ll go commie as fast as the democrat house and senate will let him. Which could mean pretty fast.

nah, he won’t go all Chavez. It will be slow transformation. I think he understands that he can’t really be who he truly wants to be but that he will use the radicals in the house to push his agenda. Welcome to the new axis of EVIL called POR (Pelosi-Obama-Reid) which will actually make many people Poor.

I do not see any sweeping changes real soon. I personlly believe that he has bought himself a lot of trouble. He made a LOT of promises and there is going to be a LOT of trouble if he does not deliver.

I can now see how Hitler came into being. These people bought it hook line and sinker. This defies reason and all logic.

Maybe he can walk on water [sarc]

They will overstep try to go incredibly fast as we melt their phone and fax line figuratively. A huge rally greater than the million man farce to protest the Fairness Doctrine or another point I can see happening as well. We won’t behave like the moonbats did with President Bush, but our civility (unless pushed) will be exemplary. At somepoint they will not be able to steamroll us, A John Galt type productivity strike would work for me... 1/2 the Doctors and Nurses and Engineers staying home for a month would get their notice.... They can’t fire us all, it would take some real B@lls to get 40% to do it, but a somepoint (especially if they touch our 410(k)’s) people just may say I have had enough....

Biden said we wouldn’t like what Hussein would do, but to stick with him. I wonder how long he has before articles of impeachment are introduced...and worse. We’re in for a rough time, so fasten your seatbelts.

You are right of course. If ‘we’ do not unite with a steadfast strategy and a rock solid plan, we will be able stop almost anything.

I would think they have to try to quickly implement the electoral “helpers” of their agenda that don’t cost too much money - Card Check, Fairness Doctrine, weakening immigration controls(what we had).
I’m sure a couple of Supreme Court justices will step down soon enough. Team Obama will probably start clearing out any conservative DoJ left and the MSM won’t raise a pip. Get Patrick Fitzgerald reassigned to a different district than Chicago.

The Democrats can do a lot of damage without costing too much money. Basically, the Chicago political machine has to be seated in DC.

Chavez didn't turn into a cartoon overnight. Going Chavez will take about two years. He has to have the situation under control by the midterms.

I hope for fast rather than slow. If he shocks people he will have big problems quick. The slow incremental approach is the one to fear.

He’s not stupid. He knows what happened to Bill Clinton after only two years, so I think he wants to control himself, but it will be hard. The consensus seems to be the country has not moved especially left, just that they are mad like they were in 1992. This is very similar to 1992.

at first i thought quickly, but he did not get the “mandate” he was hoping for. the landslide, American unity bit he wanted.
if he wants a second run in 2012 he will need to moderate and go slow. he may even put the brakes (initially) on pelosi. there was a article on yahoo finance where he is already moving away from pelosi’s 401k plan (or appears that way) which i must say is a relief to a lot of folks. http://finance.yahoo.com/focus-retirement/article/106094/Obama-and-Your-Retirement?mod=retirement-preparation
at this point i am not seeing them moved to gras.
if he gets a second term, all bets are off..... but i was wrong about a mccain win. dammit. still say ACORN had its hand in the win. what ever we have going on in the courts needs to remain there, regardless of mccain conceding. voter fraud can not go unchecked.
