So, it would lessen the load on FR’s servers?

Wouldn’t that be a help today?

I confess, I’m often guilty of loading several different threads at one time. Guess I should’t today.

Much appreciate the input.

BTW, why isn’t FR going to the thread post # that one clicks on any more???

If FreeRepublic was a media-rich site like FoxNews.com, it may make a difference... but not much of one. Instead of downloading the content in short bursts, it’d spread out the data over a longer period of time. Over thousands of viewers, this would essentially make no difference.

Now, if you had the value set at 50, that’d make a big difference.

Loading multiple threads at one time does initiate up to the maximum number of connections that this setting is set at. But as I mentioned, the only difference setting this to a lower number would do is spread out your data bursts over time, but still download the same data.
