'Olympia' was a great movie celebrating athletics. When I was in college in the early 1960's my pol. sci. class saw Triumph of the Will, which the professor remarked had only then become legal (!) to see in the US. Scary picture, almost like an Obama rally!

I’m concerned that the Left has always looked to the films of Leni Riefenstahl and Sergei Eistenstein (Nazi and Communist propagandists). They claim to not be admirers of the messages contained in the films but they clearly are taken by the ability to persuade public opinion through propaganda.
Camera angles and editing are secondary to why they triumph these films. It’s like raising up Deep Throat and saying so few other directors could have kept an audience’s attention in an hour long film with only 8 minutes of dialogue.
