That’s exactly what we had except the tree was literally buried under orange and black wings. Awesome sight. This was in southern Ohio in the early 70’s.

Butterflies are so awesome in their beauty.

At Pismo Beach, there were literally thousands. Monarch Park is about 5 acres of trees and the Monarchs seem to cluster in the trees.

I did not try walking in the sand to see others. I was afraid I wouldn’t make it back to our starting point.

I can image your tree with the bright orange; most of the ones in Pismo did not have their wings open so they kind of blended in with the trees.

We go to Pismo Beach every year but that was our first time being there at the height of the Monarch season.
