I keep hearing about the email that has been circulating, warning readers to avoid certain gift cards this holiday season.

Every day I check my email for "The List" - but have not received it.

So, I decided to do a little check on my own, this morning. Here is what I uncovered at Snopes:

Last year I gave out gift cards. I didn't realize that they also charge for buying them. Also, the credit card gift cards, if not used in a certain period of time, they charge an amount off the gift card. This made me angry. I won't do that again. I'm sad to see so many stores on this list closing.
