Yeah, you are all geniuses. We should totally discount all otherwise believable stories if their source isn’t the main stream media. I mean, its the same old story right...

... sensational story about a politician, rumored about for days/weeks
... non-mainstream website runs with the story
... site and story is ridiculed and decried as patently rediculous by the administration and liberals in general.

...

... and then the found the blue dress.

Yep, lets wait till we see something on 60 minutes before we give it any attention.

Geez

In this case, the API has provide a picture of the tape recording the Obama camp setting up the original hoax.. This has to be proof...

I'm with you, I don't see how people can discount African Press International with such rock hard proof like that. I mean, look at it, there is photographic proof the recording exists.

One of the several big differences is that the Clinton shenanigans were at least quite plausible and even highly likely based upon his track record, whereas the idea that the wife of the candidate would call one of the most obscure overseas websites in the world to sound off in idiotic and damaging (to the campaign) ways while being recorded was always straining credulity. Sure, stranger things have happened, but there was never a thread of plausibility to the API story.
