The English commmon law system began with William the Conqueror's Norman invasion of England in 1066.

During that period, England was a fractionalized island since various invaders had established settlements, including the Angles, Saxons, Celts and even the Vikings.

Naturally, these distinctive peoples spoke different languages and settled legal disputes based on their own local customs.

William the Conqueror's goal was to create one uniform or common language and one common law for all of England.

Can anyone tell me two things that have happened since 1066?

1. Why is England allowing Sha'ria Law to be practiced in domestic cases for Muslims

2. Why do we have every ballot, form and license in 40 languages?

Unity, not separation, is what makes a nation strong, William the Conqueror knew this nearly 1,000 years ago...why do modern politicians not get this concept?
