The real issue is not between creationism or evolution; it is about school choice.

If parents want to have their children taught one or the other as science, they should have that option and then see how the marketplace will value such different education standards.

Those of us who disparage creationism being taught as science should also bear in mind that there are forms of secular humanism [e.g marxist social/economic theory] — that are no less based upon faith — that are foisted upon many more children w/o parental review.

Those of us who don’t want creationism or humanism taught to our children should have that option. A government monopoly cannot possibly create a vanilla curriculum that will satisfy everyone.

School choice is the solution, not compromise.

Hamilton asked White if other teachers had religious items in their rooms, and whether other teachers were told to remove their Bibles from their desks. White said other teachers, specifically Miller, were not asked to remove the Bible because there had not been a parental complaint as there was in Freshwater’s case,

Ummmm....soooo what happens when parents of kids in his class SUPPORT such a teacher?

I guess only if it jives with the godless liberal NEA agenda could that matter.

Of course.

The student also said he felt uncomfortable in Freshwater’s classroom. Considering himself to be Jewish at the time, he said, the Christian posters and other religious items in the room contributed to that discomfort, and he relayed those concerns to his parents.

Jewish, AT THE TIME???? Hmmmmm. And imagine if all us parents began bringing up lawsuits because our kids were "uncomfortable" with all the godless liberal NEA socialism and 'homosexuality is normal' tripe OUR kids are exposed to endlessly? There'd not be enough courtrooms or judges to hear the complaints/cases, that's what!

Busted? I think if anyone is busted that would be you soliton, you misled everyone (again) into reading your tripe. There's ZERO indication of any wrongdoing MUCH LESS I can't find a thing about this teacher branding crosses on student's arms! You really should look into some kind of help!

Freshwater taught that the earth may only be several thousand years old rather than the billions suggested by the theory of evolution because carbon dating, according to Freshwater, is inaccurate.

That's enough to call his credentials as a science teacher into question right there.

Speaking of busted.....

I read the article beginning to end three times and did not find ANYWHERE any reference to this teacher *branding* any kids with a cross.

Exactly why did you put that in the title of the thread?
