2. Allow students and teachers together to freely explore science wherever the science itself leads...

Yes, science teachers should explore science with their students and not Astrology, Phrenology and other ideas that have been largely proven to be incorrect.

I doubt that, they sue now to enforce Christians to run off...and all this while they’re getting their way!

I also doubt they’d pay for it either.

And one wonders what success they would have academically.

LOL...riiight, everything but intelligent design, as espoused by these scientists trained at MIT, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, etc. etc. etc.

www.dissentfromdarwin.org

We get it.

And the more of us that get it, the more people like you (that project and call these scientists the flintstones), will be out of business!

The godless PC NEA liberals had their shot, they failed miserably.

Freshwater taught that the earth may only be several thousand years old rather than the billions suggested by the theory of evolution because carbon dating, according to Freshwater, is inaccurate.

That's enough to call his credentials as a science teacher into question right there.

White described multiple copies of the Ten Commandments,

The Ten Commandments?

Why would someone who is Jewish (at the time) have a problem with that?

White said it was due to parental complaints that Freshwater had not obtained the required permission slips; discussed inappropriate topics, such as going to an abortion clinic

But taking little kids to a gay wedding......

Speaking of busted.....

I read the article beginning to end three times and did not find ANYWHERE any reference to this teacher *branding* any kids with a cross.

Exactly why did you put that in the title of the thread?

Parents should have the choice as to if their kids are taught the sciences or young earth creationism in the place of biology, chemistry, physics and geology.

In case you haven't been paying attention, the general opinion is not that parents want YEC taught in the place of biology, chemistry, physics and geology, but creation in addition to evolution.

Poll results continue to show that's what parents prefer.

Have the schools teach science as it is accepted by 99% of the scientific community or have the schools teach Creationism as it is exhibited at the Creation Museum and on the Flintstones.

Just whose tax money is it that's paying to have whose children educated in the PUBLIC schools?

If 99% of the scientific community wants to pay for those schools, then I don't see why they shouldn't have a say in what's being taught.

Otherwise, it's the parents kids and parents extorted tax money. Parents have, time and again, expressed the wish to have creation addressed in schools only to be smacked down by litigation by the self-appointed elite who think that because they think that they know better than everyone else they have the right to dictate to everyone else what they should know and what they should be forced to live with.

You couldn’t find any better a source than that?

If the teacher did, in fact, “brand” the kids, why is that not the focus of the lawsuit? Where else in the news was this? Was this determined to occurred in a court of law? Did anyone see it happen? Or was it just accusations after the fact?

IMO, that is far more serious a crime than the whole creation issue and it’s not even mentioned in the link you provided.

Nothing but an accusation from a blogger on an atheist blogsite with a feeding frenzy against Christians ensuing.

Evolution isn't fact, it's theory. And everything we've learned about dating anything isn't etched in stone either.

Sadly most NEA teachers just regurgitate NEA tripe as fact.

It is

Or was it just accusations after the fact?

That's the system operates

1. perp commits offence
2. he is Accused
3. Court or tribunal
4. Charge substantiated
5. Perp gets head handed to him
6. Perp appeals
7. decision reversed on technicality.

Right now we are at stage 5.5

What gets overlooked by perp apologists is the central fact that the guy tasered his stepson (wait sorry, wrong guy, I get these jerks confused sometimes)

Evolution isn't fact, it's theory. And everything we've learned about dating anything isn't etched in stone either.

"Old Earth" (>1 billion years) theories originated in geology, and came before Darwin and ToE.

The current estimates of the age of the Earth are based on analysis of radioactive decay of uranium, not carbon.

The associations between ToE and old Earth thories, and between estimates of the age of the Earth and radiocarbon dating the teacher is implying are not the basis of the currently accepted estimates of the age of the Earth.

I don't have a problem with disagreeing with or trying to present alternatative theories and evidence. I take exception to trying to discredit theories and data by misrepresenting them.

If you are positive that the theory of evolution is a farce and creationism is fact then you should have the option to have your kids only taught what you believe to be fact.

As for me, I prefer that my kids be taught the sciences based on the theory of evolution. I would not want them taught ideas that I do not believe to be true.

Hardcore Evolutionists are for Big Government and Centralization of Power by Liberals.

Hatred for all things ‘Biblical’ defines the modern hardcore liberal Evolutionists on Free Republic and their allies in the leadership of the Democrat Party, (the far left leaders of the Democrat Party are all hardcore evolutionists).

Both of these groups hate American historical values, they love liberal judges and judcial activist courts, and both of these groups worship the Big Government public school monopoly above all.

No matter how destructive the Public School Monopoly becomes, the hardcore Evolutionists will still worship the Big Government Public School.

The Free Republic Hardcore Evolutionists and the other Big Government Lefties love the Big Government Public Schools because it is their way of using the point of a gun to promote their materialistic religious views.

The hardcore evolutionists on Free Republic who claim to be small government libertarians are the worst liars of all and have proven they are actually for the worst extreme of Big Government Force. In fact they blubber about their Big Government Public Schools in almost every thread.

The Free Republic Hardcore Evolutionists always appeal to Big Government and favor an Oligarchy.

The Free Republic hardcore evolutionists worship Big Government at its very worst (public school monopoly) but claim libertarianism as a convenient, dishonest excuse for the extreme moral liberalism they spew on this conservative forum.

The Free Republic Hardcore Evolutionists are liars of the worst kind. They repeat the liberal dogma of the far left at DU and the Daily Kos.

Like all liberals, they want the Big Government, centalized power to undermine parental authority while using Big Government Public Schools, (run by liberals) to indoctrinate other people's children.

You mean like demeaning scientists that dare question darwinism and their work and telling them they're just the flintstones?

BTW, I continue to hear this tripe about evolution and peer review. I've not seen any honest, serious peer review of evolution. Not recently. If ever.

How IS it an "accepted" scientist by the establishment vs. say one of the dissent from darwin scientists actually submits so-called "peer review" of darwinism? If their names weren't on their work, HOW on earth would one begin to tell, which is which?
